Music Monday: Summer

Every week my Music Monday goes like this: I get an idea, look it up on youtube, find about a dozen related things that are even more awesome and then get stuck trying to choose one.

I was going to post the largo movement of Winter from The Four Seasons because, although it's supposed to be summer here, the weather is crap today. But then, I accidentally opened a video of the presto from Summer, which is much more exciting. And then I found an electric guitar version of Winter...

In the end I went with the Summer one (this rock version was a close second):

If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music. Gustav Mahler

For some reason this video reminds me of Chocolat. Not sure why, it just does! I hope someone else agrees with me, otherwise I will be feeling mighty weird! :D

The rock version is also very cool. I wonder what Vivaldi would think of it, if he were alive to hear it. Would he even recognise it?

Lol I'm not getting the Chocolat association. Is this the music from the National Bank ads *is a philistine*. I love this. I love violin music.

lol resto. It's Presto, without the 'p', for when you want slightly diluted results from your wand.

Holly: I get the Chocolat thing, not the music, just the video, right? It looks like the same kind of little village. I like the Chocolat soundtrack though. Maybe I'll post that next week.

I would love to see ye olde composers reactions to modernised versions like that! I am convinced the 1812 is better with electric guitars. :-)

Brooke: Oh! Yeah I think it might be lol. Didn't think of that. It's great ay. :-)

Lol @ resto. it could also be what you do after you play the presto. :-P
