Music Monday: Voyage

My first Music Monday that doesn't have a female singer! Below is Celtic Thunder, whom I'd never heard of before today. This is the version I like (Christy Moore), but it seemed a bit weird to have the accompanying video (somebody's wedding photos) on my blog so I'm just going to link. Take your pick. :-)

I am a sailor, you're my first mate
We signed on together, we coupled our fate
Hauled up our anchor, determined not to fail
<-- I think FAILboat every time!
For the hearts treasure, together we set sail
With no maps to guide us we steered our own course
Rode out the storms when the winds were gale force
Sat out the doldrums in patience and hope
Working together we learned how to cope

Life is an ocean and love is a boat
In troubled water that keeps us afloat
When we started the voyage, there was just me and you
Now gathered round us, we have our own crew

Together we're in this relationship
We built it with care to last the whole trip
Our true destination's not marked on any charts
We're navigating for the shores of the heart

I can't watch the video thanks to my deathly slow internet, but aww at the lyrics and lol at the FAILboat reference!

I cry every time I hear that ballad. It's one of the most beautifully written and sung songs about starting a family ever written, in my humble opinion.

For more information about Celtic Thunder, check my Google Knol: http://knol.google.com/k/mark-regan/celtic-thunder/3oo5lhklxb3l0/2#

And if you like BEAUTIFUL singing, Jennifer, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUq7R4VAato&fmt=18. Sing by one of God's angels, with piano playing equally angelic. I'm trying to find out the pianist's name and the name of the CD the song is on. I thought you might know since the vocalist is from your part of the world.

Thanks for the links Bounty Hunter.
Hayley Westenra is a bestseller here, of course lol, but I'm sorry I can't help you out with the name of the album. I think I remember seeing ads for a Christmas album a few years ago but I might be confusing her with Charlotte Church.
